Despite being a cultural institution for most of us, Facebook has pretty much exhausted its potential.

Sure, you check it every so often when you’re bored at work and, admittedly, it’s a great way to lazily keep in touch with people…But, for the most part, Facebook can get pretty boring.

Enter Reddit user Ryan Roy, Facebook genius:

Roy found people with his name on Facebook…

Casually recreated their profile pictures…

And then sent them a friend request.

So how did Roy’s doppelgängers react to this form of internet flattery?
Pretty much the same way any sane person would when confronted with an alternate-reality version of themselves on Facebook: by totally freaking out, he told the Huffington Post

None of them really got it, they just got really creeped out and changed their profile pic immediately.

Sure, it’s a little weird…but mostly, it’s freaking hilarious…

The one notable exception to the rule was this alternate Ryan Roy, who the prankster said actually accepted his friend request:

One guy did accept my friend request (ass grabbing pic), but only to find out what was going on. He seemed genuinely creeped out and de-friended me shortly after.

We can’t imagine why.
